Terms of Use — Decy: Decibel Meter & Noise Map

1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Decy: Decibel Meter & Noise Map (“the app”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the app. These terms apply to all users of the app on both iOS (Apple App Store) and Android (Google Play Store).
2. Description of the App
Decy is a sound level measurement application that allows users to measure ambient noise levels in real time, track their hearing health, perform a Hearing Age Test, and contribute to a community noise map. Certain features are available free of charge; others require a Premium subscription.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age to use this app. If you are between 13 and 18 years of age, you may use the app only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian. By using the app, you represent that you meet these eligibility requirements.
4. License
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes on your own device, subject to these Terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or reverse engineer any part of the app.
5. Premium Subscriptions
5.1 Subscription Plans
The app offers Premium subscriptions on a weekly and annual basis. Pricing is displayed at the time of purchase and may vary by region and platform.
5.2 Billing
On iOS, subscriptions are billed through Apple’s App Store. On Android, subscriptions are billed through Google Play Billing. We do not process or store any payment information directly. Subscription management is facilitated on our behalf by RevenueCat on both platforms.
5.3 Auto-Renewal
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. On iOS, you can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple ID account settings. On Android, you can manage or cancel through your Google Play account settings.
5.4 Refunds
On iOS, all refund requests are handled by Apple in accordance with their refund policy. On Android, all refund requests are handled by Google in accordance with their refund policy. We do not issue refunds directly on either platform.
5.5 Free Trial
If a free trial is offered, it will be clearly stated at the time of purchase. Unused portions of a free trial are forfeited upon purchasing a subscription.
6. Premium Features
The following features require an active Premium subscription:
- Hearing Age Test results and detailed breakdown
- Community Noise Map access and contributions
- AI Trend Analysis (powered by our secure backend)
- PDF hearing health reports
- Unlimited measurement history
- Detailed home screen widgets
- Daily hearing health reminders
We reserve the right to add, modify, or remove Premium features at any time. Material changes to what is included in an active subscription will be communicated to subscribers.
7. AI Trend Analysis
The AI Trend Analysis feature sends anonymized numerical summaries of your noise exposure and hearing test scores to our secure backend for processing. No personally identifiable information is transmitted. Results are generated for informational purposes only and do not constitute medical advice. 8. User-Generated Content (Noise Map)
8.1 Your Contributions
When you use the Noise Map feature, you contribute anonymous noise readings and optional notes (“User Content”) that are visible to all users of the app across both platforms. By contributing User Content, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, display, and distribute that content within the app and its services.
8.2 Prohibited Content
You agree not to submit any User Content that is false, misleading, offensive, defamatory, or that violates any applicable law. We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms.
8.3 Deletion
You may delete your own pins and contributions at any time from within the app.
9. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the app only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of others. You must not:
- Use the app to violate any local, national, or international law or regulation
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the app or its infrastructure
- Use the app to monitor, record, or surveil other individuals without their knowledge or consent
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the app
- Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the app or its data
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the app
10. Intellectual Property
All content, design, code, trademarks, and materials within the app are the property of Codcy or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. The name “Decy” and associated branding are trademarks of Codcy. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trademarks, logos, or brand elements without our prior written consent.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
The app is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. Decibel measurements provided by the app are intended for general informational purposes only and should not be relied upon for professional, medical, legal, or safety-critical decisions.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the app, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to you for any claims arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months preceding the claim.
13. Hearing Health Disclaimer
The Hearing Age Test, daily health scores, and AI Trend Analysis features within the app are designed for general informational and wellness purposes only. They are not medical devices and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. Results should not be used as a substitute for professional audiological or medical evaluation. If you have concerns about your hearing health, please consult a qualified medical professional.
14. Third-Party Services
The app integrates with the following third-party services. Your use of those services is governed by their respective terms and policies. We are not responsible for the practices or content of any third-party services.

15. Platform Store Terms
Your use of the app is also subject to the terms of the platform through which you obtained it. On iOS, this includes Apple’s App Store Terms of Service. On Android, this includes Google Play’s Terms of Service. In the event of a conflict between these Terms and the applicable platform’s terms, the platform’s terms will prevail solely with respect to your relationship with that platform.
16. Modifications to the App and Terms
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the app or any of its features at any time without notice. We may also update these Terms at any time. The updated Terms will be posted at the URL where you found this document, with a revised “Last updated” date. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
17. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the app at any time if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your license to use the app will immediately cease.
18. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Codcy operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in that jurisdiction.
19. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
